View Full Version : Sewer sewer gas smell when using electric dryer

A wall separates my washer and dryer from a small bath room,gettig a strong sewer gas smell in the small bath room I thought when use the washer but after using the washer this morning waitged about 15 minutes and no smell so turned on the electric drye and in about 10 to 15 minutes had a strong sewer gas smell in the small bath room.any ideals?

Your dryer exhausts air to the outside so it pulls air into the home via the easiest route. I think you have a dry floor drain or a bad wax ring under the toilet. Both will allow sewer gas to enter the home.

I have had both toilet wax rings replaced and also both sink traps check and are OK,dryer is vented out the side all where it sets not the wall where small rest room is where getting the smell
