Just enter your state followed by "courts" and you should find an online case lookup. Virginia for example: virginiacourts.com. As far as job search, I doubt they'll do background checks on a job a 16 year old would be applying for but when you fill out the application, don't lie about your past.

Actually your parents most likely will have to do it, I think the court house requires you to be 18 to get your own ( this is GA, your area may be different)

Most state court websites do not yet have the actual documents available online. It would be better to actually go to the courthouse, and ask the clerk of court to see the file.

And, as Fr_Chuck notes, juvenile records are somewhat confidential in many places. So call ahead and ask whether your parents will have to come with you.

You or your parents can go to the courthouse to "look" at your records, but I don't know WHY. They're there. They didn't disappear. You can look at them... But, they have NOTHING to do with what might show up on a background check... Some companies might pick it up, and others won't.

I see no reason why you can't hire a background check company to run your own. Keep in mind, that all background checks are not the same either..

No, you can't, not if they are juvenile records and you're a juvenile.

Websites don't give details and the names are often wrong.

Employment involving handling money often involves a background check, however brief, particularly if the cashiers are bonded. The owner of the McDonald's chain in my area is running background checks on everyone.
