In a friction experiment why is it necessary that the body move with uniform velocity?

because the friction is calculated by seeing how much force it takes to move a body at a speed x, if the speed x keeps changing then you won't have valid data to calculate force or friction.
There are equations to get friction on an accelerating body, but this is more complicated. Better to have good data at a constant speed and calculate it this way.
