Any great free software or not so expensive that you could recommend please, or any services that I could get for movies and series. I don't understand so much about codecs h264, mp4 etc for the videos so any players and stuff would help.

Hi Kartovar,
In response to your query, the best program which I can suggest you which suits your requirement is the VLC player, it supports MPEG-2, DivX, H.264, MKV, WebM, WMV, MP3 & runs on all platforms: Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, Unix... you can download it free from the below mentioned link
VideoLAN - Official page for VLC media player, the Open Source video framework! (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html)
let us know if this helps.
Thanks & regards

Here's a list of the best free and pay video services (all legal): http://yoobly.weebly.com/web-video.html . As for free, legal media, you can watch that through your web browser, as with YouTube. I like www.crackle.com - it's 100% legal, lots of free videos and no commercials (at least I have never seen any from there yet)... As for video players, both VLC and KMPlayer are well known as the best free players for Windows, no need to buy a video player. Also check out > Daum PotPlayer - dvbsupport <, most of us that know about it think it's the best free player right now, it's a fork from KMPlayer. Also, I use a skin with it > WMP 11 Zedd by ~Yincognyto on deviantART < that makes it look and work better for me. Just search googles for the links.

If you are running windows then by default there will be windows media player on your system.
If you don't like it then you can always go for VLC which is a good software. It's free and you can download it right off their website.
