To ensure there is no damage to the cat, usually wait and skip a season so that she doesn't have her body over-worked :)

The question is how often does a cat come into heat, not how often should she be bred.
Cats, unlike dogs, can come into heat as many as 4-6 times a year.

If you have a pregnant cat, please please please spay her once she has kittens. My house is getting full of cats that have been dumped by well-meaning but ignorant people who don't spay or neuter their cats. Thousands of homeless cute adorable kittens and cats are being euthanized every day all over the world.

A cat can become pregnant before the previous litter is completely weaned.
Spaying is in her best interest healthwise and to help control the cat population.
