My husbands alcohol problem is becoming worse everyday.. he refuses to get help and doesn't think he has a problem. I was raised in a home with an alcoholic father and refuse to let my children (ages 11 and 5) grow up in the same environment. My older daughter is extremely attached to her father and thinks he does no wrong which I understand because I was the same way when I was young. My younger daughter is scared to death of her father when he's drunk and irate. To my question, I haven't been employed since I had my first child, 11 years ago, I have no income and no savings account... I want to move, is there any kind of help out there for someone in my situation to get me established somewhere with my children until I can find at least part time employment? I actually prefer to move out of state and away from the whole situation but I know that can't happen until I go through a long court process, but for now I'd just like myself and my children to be away from this environment and I need a little bit of assistance to be able to do so.
Any thoughts or advice here would be greatly appreciated.

There certainly are shelters, many run by Churches. Is there an abuse hotline in your area? Raging is abuse.

The hotlines have lists of resources.
