I received a regestered letter Friday July 6th from my landlord stating that they would be auctioning the property and that I have to vacate the by July 30th. No discepancies, rent paid up... just suddenly decided to sell the property. Can I be evicted on such short notice?

Do you have a lease or are you month to month or week to week? In most cases the new owner would have to accept the old agreement you had with the old owner if it's a lease.

(2) The landlord or the tenant may terminate a month-to-month tenancy by a written notice given to the other at least thirty (30) days before the periodic rental date specified in the notice.

This is kind of vague language, but I would take it to mean that you have to be given written notice at least 30 days prior to your rental date. I'm assuming that your rental period is a calendar month.
When was the letter dated? The landlord may have dated the letter June 30 and it only got to you Jul 6, but a court may not see it that way.
My feeling is he has to give you to the end of August because he waited too long.

Scott is correct but this is just to get you to vacate. After the 30 days are up, if you do not leave, then the owner on that date needs to evict you.
