The ac unit outside fan doesn't wNt to turn on. I took it apart and gave it a little tap and the fan started spinning for 20 seconds or so and then shut off. I can only give it started if a tap the fan then it starts to move

It is possible the capacitor for the motor is defective. Replace motor capacitor. If that does not work you might have to buy a new motor.
