My Maytag MFW 9700SQ1 just won't quit giving me trouble. The repairman has been here 4 times. I have paid for 5 new parts. The repairman is never here more than 35 minutes. I replaced the electronic pad, made sure it was draining in my drain by snaking it out, and replaced 4 other parts the man said I needed. He came and installed the last parts and said I should have no more problems. He left and I started a load of wash immediately. (We have been without for 5 weeks) I then got busy and forgot it for about 2 hours. The cycle was only for 55 minutes. I then went to transfer the wash and saw and heard it was still spinning. It was spinning on high. I had set it for medium. It had been spinning for more than an hour. I turned it off on the front and waited for it to slow down. I transferred the wash to dryer and started a new load which I set for short wash and med spin. I came back in 15 minutes. It was in the spin mode of the wash cycle and was turning on high and not going to stop. I watched it for 10 minutes on my watch. Nothing changed. I had to stop it by the power button again. This time it didn't even make it to rinse. I rinsed the load from the rinse spin setting and watched it the whole 11 minutes, it rinsed, drained and spun. The spinning did not stop again however. I was made to turn it off by the power button. What should I do besides call the repairman back?

All you can do is to call the repairman back. He did something wrong, but I hear that this unit is junk. I would stick with Whirlpool top loaders if I were you.
