What should we say if we can't tell you the truth, that you're too young?

What advice do you want? Do you want the truth, or a lie?

Tell him the truth about how you feel. Don't be shy. Just tell him. If he rejects you, then its not worth your time.

What do you know (if anything) about sex? Do you plan on sex with this boy?

Okay, I have to jump in here.

At the age of 11 she needs parental consent to even date this boy. He will need parental consent too.

So, telling this poster not to be shy, to tell him the truth, is very premature. Asking if she plans on having sex, when she's not even old enough to consent to dating, is not the best advice. :(

You may not agree that children shouldn't date, but the law is the law. Without consent from both parents, this child cannot decide anything about this boy, or what she's going to do with him.

Know I don't think xes should be said to children , are at least leave that conversation up to the parents. Please end this topic!

I have a very responsible 11 year old daughter and no way would I encourage her to act on "a crush" she had for a boy. Sex should not even enter the picture at this age so I'm not sure why that was even brought up. No problem being friends of course but I would counsel her on this "desperate" feeling - it ain't healthy.
