I have a new guy coworker at work and we really hit it off. I catch him staring at me during the day, and he always follows me around work like a little puppy. He playfully teases me at work for being so short and youthful-looking, and he seems to find excuses to be near me. He has tickled me once before and occasionally will touch my shoulder or my arm. He has been honest since the beginning that he does have a girlfriend (1 year so far) and she will be moving away in about a month. He is unsure if he wants to try long distance with her, but they seem pretty serious to me. We have spent time together outside of work and he seems very playful. He has suggested we hang out again together soon but I haven't agreed yet.
Unfortunately I have strong feelings for him. When he looks at me, his eyes get soft and he gets this dreamy expression on his face... I'm surprised I fell this hard for him. Usually I keep my guard up for months and months, but he found his way into my heart and I don't know what to do.
I've never liked a taken man before. Is it possible he has any feelings for me, or is just using me for attention? My coworkers know I am crushing on him, because I'm really bad at hiding my feelings.
Do I have a chance or is he bad news?

From another guys perspective, I would say that he's probably just keeping his options open. He might not want to be alone (yeah, guys get lonely too) so when his GF leaves he'll just hop onto you ; ) whether you guys will have a meaningful relationship or not will depend on you NOT your pasts.

I sometimes wonder if that person would act so very playful if their girlfriend was in the same room; by flirting with a female co-worker. It also appears that it takes very little for you to establish a crush or strong feelings for someone who gives you his soft eyes and dreamy expression etc… That is hardly earth shattering; weak at the knees material? What it is however, a good boost to your ego which is a good thing by all means; if you keep it in check?
Reality is; he has a girlfriend and THEY have some long distance issues to sort out. Meanwhile as he is aware of this and unsure if he wants to try long distance there is something easier. He opts to flirt to illuminate the cold sheets on her side of the bed! I equate with JWASKE advice; …guys get lonely too…

He wants to have his cake and eat it too. A girlfriend that he cares about, but that's moving away, and possibly an affair with someone he finds attractive, but won't dump his girlfriend for. But, good news she's in the same town, and available, where his girlfriend won't be.
If he was really interested he'd dump his girlfriend and go after you. Looks like he's hoping you'll take him on, and let him keep his girlfriend while they're apart. When they can be back together, you'll be left with nothing.
Find someone that wants just you, and not just someone to keep the bed warm while the girlfriend is away.

You are a willing option nothing more and he knew when he began touching you after you knew of his girl friend and going out with him.
He is buttering you up to be there when his girl friend leaves.
I find that pitiful, what he is looking to do and your reaction and acquiescence to it.

I agree with JWASKE that he is keeping his options open. Also, consider the fact that he will be doing this sort of thing with someone else if you two ever start dating. The grass is always greener...
