My son's ex-girlfriend brought their daughter to AZ w/out his permission. They had joint custody established in CA. She now refuses to let him see her and it seems everyone takes her side even though the daughter lived with him for the most part in CA. He is now living with me in AZ, can't find work and is desperate to know what to do. This is not a responsible mom who is now pregnant from an unknown father. Should he file a foreign judgement and can he go to court on all of this on his own? Does anyone represent themselves in these matters. He is desperate to get his joint custody time with his daughter and I am sure that she is in violation of Parental Alienation codes. Any advice is desperately needed and spending $ on lawyers is not an option right now.
Thanks for reading.

My ex-girlfriend and I have Joint Custody of our 4 year old. She has refused to let me see her after she took her across state lines against a court order. If I do get to see her can I take her to another state and file papers there? No one seems to do anything to her and she is already in violation of the custody agreement. It originated in CA, she moved my daughter to AZ and I want to go to PA where there is a job and home waiting for us. Will they do more to me than to her? Will I lose visitation rights this way? The whole system still seems to favor the mom even though she is irresponsible and does not provide a stable environment. Getting the court to see that is another thing.

First, it is not a good idea to piggyback your question on another thread. To avoid confusion I've moved your post to it's own thread.
Was custody established in CA? Were there any court orders issued? Is your son on the birth certificate? How long ago did she move to AZ?
Why do you think she needed permission to move?
We need those answers to advise what to do.

... If I do get to see her can I take her to another state and file papers there? ...
Not if it would be a violation of the California custody/visitation order. And, if your child's mother still resides in California, the UCCJEA would not allow a Pennsylvania court to assume custody jurisdiction.

What have you done to see enforce the court order? If you had visitation in CA and the mother moved, then have the CA courts issue a warrant or award you custody. Then you go and get your daughter. Then you can ask the CA courts for permission to move to PA.
If you move before this, then the mother can get the case transferred to AZ
Note: I've merged your two threads. Are you now the son or his mother?
