I am paid in allowance by my company. A month back I got my
W-2 wage and Tax Statement. I approached many people and they are not clear about
Whether I need to file or not. I am here in US from Aug 23rd. I have 2 dependents with
Me, my wife and kid on L2 visa. They don't have SSN. I am still blank on what need
To be done on filing the tax. Do I have to file the tax, if yes, how do I declare my
Wife and kid as dependent. As far as I know, since I am in STL, in my payslip, the
Federal tax used to be zero and there used to be some amount deducted against
Social security and state tax. Could you please give me some clarity on what need
To be done. Your immediate reply is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in Advance,
Rajavel

Rajavel:

Without actually looking at the W-2, I cannot comment on your tax requirements.

How long have you been in the U.S.

How long will you be staying?
