We moved to an area where there aren't gas dryer outlets. We'd like to convert the outlet to gas. What's involved. (the only gas appliances are furnaces and water heaters, for some reason)

You will need someone to extend the existing gas line to the dryer. Typically this will require cutting or disassembling the piping, adding a T connection and then use black pipe to run to the dryer. You will need a shutoff valve and appropriate fittings to match the dryer. You will also need to run a separate 120 Vac line for the motor since the current wire configuration will not work. May be easier to sell the dryer you have and get an electric dryer. If you are on a slab, I would do that for sure unless dryer in very near to the heaters.
