I have a Majestic gas log fireplace in the home we recently bought. Home is around 5 years old. I do not have the model number. I can turn on and off the gas log fireplace by operating the switch on the wall. The problem is , when I turn the fire place OFF, the pilot light stays on. It has stayed on all night. The glass front stays warm. The Main logs themselves come on OK and turn off when I operate the switch. I do not believe this is a normal behavior (pilot light stays on when the fireplace is not being used). I have tried switching on and off the fireplace multiple times, but has made no difference to the pilot flame. Flame color does not indicate any issues. Please advice and help.

You will need to turn off the pilot manually. Remove the bottom grill and the gas valve should be there. Move the knob to Off. When winter comes, set to pilot, light it and then move the knob to on. I have the same unit.

I moved into a 13year old home with a Magestic gas fireplace that the owners manual states should put out 30,000 btu's. It puts out no heat! Can't tell what is wrong, the flue/damper/blower works, everything seems working except no heat?? Model nvbc36rn
