For the past month the upstairs bath tap (hot) has become very stiff and the water flow is getting less and less. When the water is very hot it is impossible to turn the tap off. I am assuming it's because everything is swelling due to the heat of the slow water?

We've taken the tap apart but can't see anything wrong - we don't really have a clue what we are looking for
