Ok there's this girl that I haven't seen in a few years that I just got back in touch with through Facebook. I used to have a huge crush on her but I never had the balls to ask her out. Haha I do now though! I know that it's kind of pathetic to ask someone out on Facebook but I don't see her at all in the real world anymore so it's really my only option.

Do you think I should even bother asking and if so how should I go about asking? I'm going to have to say something pretty special to get her attention over the internet. Lol

Should I just come right out and ask her? I was thinking of just starting a conversation with her and telling her that I used to have a crush on her and see how she responds.

Help please!

Absolutely, you have nothing to lose. But you shouldn't tell her you had a crush on her via Facebook, it will lose its power, you need to save that for when you meet up with her.

Make small talk like you already planned. After you feel comfortable, tell her that you want to finish the conversation over coffee or lunch, and then ask when she's available. A coffee or lunch date is quick and unassuming, so the chances of her agreeing to this are very high.

Ask her to go out somewhere, and then tell her, do NOT do it through Facebook.

Start a conversation with her but keep it light, then arrange to meet up. Definitely take a chance though! :)

Thanks for the advice! I'm going to start a conversation with her tonight and maybe see if we can meet up this weekend. Should I say we're just meeting to hangout or should I say it's a date?

Is there a need to specify? I'd avoid it; may make for an awkward situation.

No I guess there isn't. Thanks again. Wish me luck!

Don't call it anything. Just say "I want to finish this conversation over coffee/lunch/whatever".
