I am a 20 year old girl and I have been seeing a 16 year old boy. I was wondering if this 4 year difference is wrong?

First of all, what are the laws of your state? You could be breaking the law. If you really like this guy, why don't you wait two more years, then you would not have to worry about it. My niece met a guy before she was allowed to date. She told him she could not date until she was eighteen. He asked her when was her birthday, and he asked for her phone number. He saved her number and called her on her 18th birthday - I think it was about two years later. He became her first boyfriend. In answer to your question, a four year difference is a lot when you are dealing with a minor and an adult even though you are a young adult. When you are 22, and he is 18 - it will not seem like such a big difference. The older you both get, the less of a difference it will make. Please wait. It is not worth the societal issues, legal issues, etc. You are still young. You have so much to look forward to, and to be labeled as a pedophile (depending on the laws of your state) is not worth it.

I think talking and getting to know each other is fine. I would keep the romance at a minimum. You guys could start dating and having a sexual relationship once he is of age by law. Like the above post says, don't get caught being a pedophile. It's just not right. Also, why not try dating people more your age?

I can't imagine what a 20 yr old girl would find in common with a 15 yr old boy. The two of you are at very different developmental stages. As noted, any sexual relationship could be illegal.

Also what do his parents think? If they do not approve then you could be in legal trouble.

Yeah... not to say that there aren't upstanding, fine young men out there - but why on Earth would you be interested in a 16 year old boy ? You're at a totally different stage in your life and you don't want to get legal trouble as the posters above said.

A 16 year old boy is not prepared to make emotional commitments and it might be better for him to have relationships with girls his own age who are on his level.

When will they learn that parents can make a lot of trouble for older people messing with their under age KIDS? The law says on thing, but the parents are the law until a person is 18.

If a parent says NO dating my 16 year old, they can sure enforce it. You better ask the parents before you date a minor.
