I am a health care professional and am currently enrolled in a monitoring program. I tested positive for tramadol but I have never taken any form of tramadol. Is there any logical explanation for this?

What type of test, urine, hair, blood?
When you say "positive", is that the only notation or does the test show a specific amount of Tramadol detected?
Are you taking any other medications?

It was a urine test. I have not seen the results myself, however I have requested them. I currently take Wellbutrin, Vitamin B 12 and 6, Zegerid, a multi vitamin and occasionally ibuprofen.

Will need to know the type test performed to be exact. However, if you don't take this drug it was probably an immunoassay (basic initial screen) and the result a false positive. If so, you should request a confirmation test as soon as possible. In 99% of cases that will show negative.
As soon as you get the results if you will post again can probably be more helpful. In the meantime you might wish to request the confirmation.
There are a number of Tramadol false positives turning up. Too many to explain by chance, but nothing in the literature to explain it... seems most common in multiple pain medications use.
ADDED:
Checked the meds. Wellbutrin is known to cross-react with amphetamines and proton pump inhibitors (Zegerid) with Marijuana. Tramadol is not shown. So we need the test result.
