I've been with my girlfriend for a year and 8 months now. We've had a pretty solid and wonderful relationship with only minor problems like any other couple. For the most part, everything has just been fantastic. Recently she decided to study abroad in England for about 40 days. She'll be coming back in about 4 days, which means that it's already been a decent amount of time (by far the longest we've spent apart).

Going into the study abroad we were confident that it would work out and that everything would be okay. For awhile it was okay, but obviously communication was tough with both of our schedules/time differences. It also didn't help that we weren't able to be near each other to express how we felt, nor were we included in each others lives for the time being. Today we were talking and things were going pretty much as usual. Then we started talking about how different things were with the distance, and shortly after she stated that we'd discuss it when she got back.

Kind of made me wonder, so I asked if she had changed while she was there. She told me she didn't know and that she didn't want to talk about it while she was so far away. Doubts and such are hard enough to ignore with the distance that we've had, so this really didn't feel so great. I honestly don't know what to think or expect at the moment. So far I'm just a little sick to my stomach.. A few more days to burn before I found out what's up. Any ideas? Thanks for all responses and advice!

If I were you, I would try to remind her of all the good times you've shared together once you get a chance to talk and remind her how much you care about her and still hope that everything can be the same as before. Maybe try surprising her with something spontaneous that will make her remember why she fell for you in the first place.

Hi guy... thats so cute.am telling u.she hasn't changed.its quite normal :) am a girl and I know it.the same happened with me when I went to england for 3 weeks only and it was so hard for my boyfrienfd to bear that separation.. it was the same for me.As I was far from him,I kept supporting him, trying to make him forget that am far.the bitter thing is that I had to be online 24/24 n it was damn difficult.I felt sick but I understood him because if I were in his place maybe I would have done the same thing.well,to answer your question.. as for me,I was doing the same thing, avoiding the talk, doesn't mean she has changed, she simply doesn't want to get hurt and hurt you while being far.suppose you start talking about your days, after that topic you both will miss each other so much and be sad.. she would wish she could be with you to love u,to care 4u n to support u... she doesn't want to make you suffer more.
I don't think you should doubt her because she has time 4u.if she didn't get time for you while being there, then there's a reason to doubt.so don't worry.u feel 'insecure' because she's away.
I wish you the very best and may you both meet soon :)

Sometimes we scare the hell out of ourselves, and worry for nothing. Since you don't know what's up, don't dwell, but prepare for the worst while you hope for the best. Let us know how it goes. Good Luck.

Well, she's coming home tomorrow late at night. I assume we'll talk the day after or maybe even later depending on whatever is going on. She hasn't contacted me since, nor have I tried to contact her, assuming that until this has been discussed it will be quite awkward. Knowing how she is when she gets emotionally overwhelmed, I'm kind of expecting a break up at this point. I guess either way this goes it'll be better in the end. Wish me luck anyway! :D
Thanks for the replies.

Woooo! Got it all over with. So she had sex with some guy. I figured it was going to happen, so she did me the favor in showing me to move on. Lost my other half, but oh well. We're like puzzle pieces; we always find a fit with someone :D I think I'm pretty good at this point, though I'm sure it will hit me a little later. Anyway, she's opened the door for me in so many ways. Maybe I'll find someone ten times better than I "thought" she was :P
