The father of my son did not want to be listed as the father of our child, because his mother didn't want him to (he was 40 at the time) She was afraid that they would go after him for child support even though we were living together at the time... Well, 7 years later, he demands to be put on the birth certificate, but now we are no longer together.
He finally has a job, but owes over 80,000 in back child support for another child, what are my chances of ever seeing any support for our son? And does it matter if he is not listed as the father?

Thank you!

Whether he is "listed" (named) on the BC as the father is not really important. What does matter is whether he is ordered to pay child support. His "demands" that he be put in the BC would be persuasive in that regard, but normally a DNA test is required.

Denise you should have nothing to do with him you sound like an INDEPENDENT woman and you can take care of your son all by yourself teach him when he grow up to fulfill his purpose and take care of his kids if he ever has any... now he wants to claim your kid when he's on his feet he should have been their even if he wasn't on his feet back then he could have stayed with you?? And y'all could have got through it together you leave him alone and tell him he 7years too late
