If anyone can offer me some advice, I would very grateful. I am a 40 years old, & have 2 children. After the birth of my second child 5 years ago, I have only had "one" (normal) period. I have had very minimal light brown spotting every 3-4 months, but for the most part, nothing but the classic symptoms of having one: (ie: headache, backache, slight cramping). MY CONCERN: I began bleeding 6 days ago, and it is extremely heavy, and bright, bright red with slight clotting. I am not having any lower abdominal pain, but I am having upper left side abdominal pain that often takes my breath away with certain movement; however, I had this pain for many years prior to the bleeding episode. My family Doctor did an x-ray & then a ultrasound and nothing was ever found, soon after it just became a way of life, and basically I had no choice than to learn to cope with the mysterious pain for several years now. My insurance sucks, and my resourses are limited, but I need to know if this amount of bleeding is normal after 5 years of no menstration, and is this cause for major concern. Again, the bleeding is quite excessive (soaking through thick pad approx every half and hour for past 5 days straight). Can anyone offer me any advice here? Does this seem normal? Thanks in advance for your time!!
