Hello,

I am living & working in US since last 15 months on L1b visa & my dependents are on L2 visa(spouse & son). We wanted to get our kid US education for elementry level. However due to changes in my company I am not getting any further extension to stay. Hence I am wondering if my 5+ year old son is eligible for Minor f1 visa or not... Questions are:

1. If he is eligible to get F1 visa & study with any SEVIS approved private school. What will be the duration of education, we want min 12th grade education, he is currently in Kindergarten.

2. Can his parents stay as he is minor. If yes, can they get EAD or any dependent work visa to earn & support kids education & cost of living ?

3. How much fund do we need to have before we apply for f1 minor visa along with F1 dependents visa for us as his parents to stay with him & work in US.

4. In case if parents can get dependent visa like EAD, what will be the length of that visa ?

Regards,
Amit Rastogi
