I am wondering if a dog can just not like a particular person. I have a 19 month old female rotty, she is a calm loving well trained dog. She is restless at times and is scared of silly noises like something scraping along a wall or floor. I took her to a friends house and from the moment she went in her tail was between her legs as she sniffed around, we opened to back door and let her out, tail still between legs, Give it time I thought. They have a small dog which doesn't get along with most dogs so they locked him up stairs. My friend bent over and ruffled through a box and her hair flopped down over her face and the dog jumped up, no bark, growl, just a pheuff, and hit her with her nose on the side of her head. About 5 minutes later, she did almost the same thing as (friend) she walked out of the room, and she did the same on her bum. It is so uncharacteristic of her, she doesn't bark at the door or when people come in, we use no touch, talk, eyecontact when 1st greeting her, she sits and stays till called, comes when called even when another dog there. I need to know if I can fix this? Thank you in advance! X

Since your dog reacted the minute she walked in the house, I suspect that it was the scent of the male dog (neutered or not)? Hair over the face and bent over can appear aggressive too. Who knows? You are the best judge of your dog and the situation. At least she didn't bite. My Jack Russell has nipped at the heels of two women for no reason at all. I never did figure out why those two people.
