A small group of us were at a former work mates house. She is missing a personal item ( a bottle of perfume) and says she is going to have the police fingerprint us all.

Is that allowed and are we allowed to refuse. We are all innocent and think she has just missed placed it. We are feeling offended and "guilty until presumed inocent"

Thanks for you help

I'm sure if she called the cops for a missing bottle of perfume, the cops would laugh at her.

Really. No offense to your "friend" but she is not the friend of anyone there. She has basically accused all of you of theft. And yes, the police may come and take a report but that is as far as it goes. Is the perfume worth over $100? If it's not , the most anyone could be charged with is petty theft and that would cost about a $50 (US) fine.
Again, no offense but your "friend" needs to get a life. There are many more important things to be concerned about in life .
