I have a friend of mine who has only been out of prison for two months and violated parole by getting a DWI and totaling his girlfriends car the same night.. . What kind of time is he looking at? Or fines? We are in NY state.

He's going back in jail PLUS getting whatever time they give him for the DWI... depending on WHERE this is... first time DWI charges can carry a year in jail on its own.

What about his parole? He is on parole for like three more years

Did he have a valid license? Did he get (how many) tickets? Who or what did he hit?

He'll get the three years PLUS what he gets for the DWI... which they will likely throw the book at him being he was on parole at the time. Of course a lot of it depends one the judges opinions on this.

Yes he had a license.. He hit a tree with his girlfriends car with her in it as well... He ended up going to the hospital with a brain injury.. He is out now and in jail.. And I do believe he got a ticket or it could have been a couple not 100%

Wait I just found out that he indeed did not have a license.. Got a ticket for running a stop sign.. And a DWI aggravated unlicensed operation

Hello H:

Given the circumstances of his violation, it's my view, that he'll be returned to prison to finish his sentence. I doubt whether he'll be given another parole.. When he's released, the cops will be there to pick him up on the DWI charge.
