I've had a Frigidaire electric dryer for 5 1/2 years.( model # FDEB23RGS1) Back in December, the belt broke and I bought a replacement at an appliance supply store. Electrolux makes the belt and it says on the package that it's made for Frigidaire dryers.(Appliance Parts from Repairclinic.com - Product Details (http://www.repairclinic.com/0081.asp?RccPartID=1156784)) The belt broke again in January and then again last night. When I took the factory belt of back in December I compared it to the replacement and they were exact. Each time the belt is frayed and looks like it simply pulled apart. The edges look good, but it breaks in the center.
The belt goes around the drum and then attaches to a tension device in the back. There's only one way that it will work that I can see. If anyone's had any experience with this or can shed any light it would be appreciated. Thanks.
