We bought a used Kenmore washer and dryer set and got them up and running and did a test wash without any clothes to make sure it went through the cycles properly and everything was fine. So we went to go start our first load, and the washer doesn't do anything when we pull the knob to start the load. No noise except the click of the knob. We checked our electrical and it seems to be fine. I have no idea what is wrong! The dryer works fine right next to it. Help!

The water level switch controls the starting of the machine. Is the water on? If it is you need to see if power is getting to the water valves with a meter. The water level switch has one common coming into the switch and wires out to the water solenoid valves. When the water level is at the set level the diaphragm switches power to the timer and starts the cycle. Make sure to check the water inlet first and make sure the screens are not stopped up. Stopped up screens will cause it to do nothing. Otherwise, you will have to trace the power with a meter.
