Can you use a black #12 as a neutral as long as you identify
That black wire with white scotch 33 tape . This is a 6' greenfield whip .the wire lenth is. 7' long . 120v. 20 amp.
Will this meet national code?? Thanks!!

No, it absolutely will not meet code. Nor is it a good idea.

Why you would need to for just 7' is beyond me.

You would think code would be more strict on the Hot than the Neutrals and Grounds.
I bet Neutrals and Grounds have caused many Fatalities,, Not Just the Hots.
