I'm moving into an apartment that has hardwood floors in a couple of areas. I wanted to know what the best way to clean them. What chemicals to use, etc. Thank you for your assistance.

Some of the best things are the easiest things to find and use:

HFN:Understanding and Caring for Hardwood Floors (http://www.thehome.com/harfloor.html)

For an easy and cheap floor cleaning alternative try mixing 1/2 cup of white vinegar to 1 gallon of warm water. This method of using vinegar to clean hardwood floors is an easy and safe solution to keeping your floor looking it's best. Be cautious what you put on your wood surface as oils or furniture polish can make a floor very slippery.

Another alternative of utilizing vinegar to clean a hardwood floor is in products such as Murphy's oil soap. It works really well and gives a beautiful shine to wood surfaces. As far as longevity goes, nothing beats good ole preventative maintenance. Keep dirt off your floors and you'll have a beautiful shine for many years to come.
