I know I can't make him like me, and I'm not trying to. My best friend is actually trying to help me with him, were close like two fingers crossed. My friend and I are helping each other. I won't get over it because I can tell he's the one. And he does talk to me just not as much as I would hoped he would.

You can't make someone do either, they either want to be your friend or they don't. You said he does talk to you just not as much as you'd like. Maybe he does not want to be best friends with you.

We both liked him and we support each other. We both said we would be fine if he went out with either one of us. But he's not going out with either so I just want to be closer to him. I know we can be friends but I'm not sure how to get close..
