Hello,
I am a Temporary Resident in Canada. I was arrested for impaired driving at one of Sobey's car parks two months ago and I plead guilty at court since the lawyer said so. I was fined $1000. Yesterday I received a NOTICE from citizenship and Immigration, Canada to appear for a proceeding under subsection 44(2) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. According to that they asked me to meet one of the officer at border office. And it says purpose of the proceeding is to determine whether "a removal order should be issued against me ". I'm so worried about this situation, the lawyer who appear for my case at court did not inform us about anything like that,although I asked him. Could you please help me on this.
