Raj had faced lots of pain in his short span of life. The latest in the list was an unexpected breakup which had left him in a real state of depression. He was all shattered and had no clue as to what was happening in his life. Just one question was revolving in his mind , “Why me GOD , What wrong have I done in life? “. But a question to God is never directly answered. God had his own ways of answering back.
It was just another normal day in one of the busy IT firms in the heart of Cochin city. However, one thing was different. Joy was being added to the youths of the company. How?? Well, a new batch of trainees had joined the company on that day and it was full of what the commons slang as “CHICKS”. One girl was the centre of attraction in the group . She wore a black and white striped top and a tight fitted jeans and looked really graceful with those flowing hair. Her name was Aashika. Aashika was a muslim girl, who carried the trademark of charm on her face. Beauty personified.. that was Aashika. Everyone used to stare at her with wide open eyes as though an angel had dropped on earth.
With the arrival of this group of girls and especially Aashika, there was a buzz all over the office. However, one person who was still confined to the walls of depression was Raj. He never noticed what was happening around him. Raj was a person who carried around a really impressive professional image right from the Day1 in office. He was a senior resource in his project and was very well equipped with the business involved in his project. He was asked to mentor a group of these newly arrived folks for their “First Realtime Project”. But , to the shock of everyone, his answer was a “NO”. Raj had no interest in anything now. He just wanted to work and leave. That’s all that he focused on.
The training batch
6 of the newly arrived folks were allotted their “First Realtime Project” with Raj’s team. Even though Raj was not willing to be a mentor, he had to say yes for a couple of classes, the reason being he was very well aware of the business in the project. The team was composed of 5 girls and a guy and Aashika was one of them. Raj put up a really excellent training performance and ensured that the team was well aware what they were going to do. The result of the training was really fruitful and the team was very well appreciated by the judges on the final day of their presentation. All throughout the training days, Raj was very helpful to the team and slowly started developing a friendly relationship with all.
The beginning of a new relationship
In the midst of the training, there was a buzz among these 6 folks whether Raj was married or not. And somewhere Aashika was finding something interesting in Raj. She wanted to talk to him frequently, but was not able to do so. However, they used to exchange smiles and used to converse through mails. There was some spark igniting somewhere, but that was still unseen. Aashika really started liking each and everything Raj used to do. She started admiring him. Raj , was unaware of anything that was happening as he was still in his self confined state of depression.
After the end of the first realtime project , all these 6 folks were put into the same Project Account where Raj was working in. All of them were in Cloud nine, as they really liked the way they were being treated during their training sessions by the mentors of the account. Once they were put into projects, each of the folks got a dedicated system to themselves and that’s where the Communicator ( intra chat machine) came into picture. All were excited to add folks they knew and chit chat with them for long times. Aashika was the spotlight in the lot. She was flooded with Communicator contacts and there was no space on her desktop at any point of time, owing to the fact that she was always bombed with pings from guys all over the office. She was rockingggg...
Aashika enters Raj’s life
Now that communicator was in place, Aashika somehow wanted to chat with Raj. But Raj never showed any interest. She wanted to talk to him desperately . They used to sit in opposite cubicles and a wall separated their view. However, she took the initiative and the communications started. Raj and Aashika started chatting a lot and in a span of few days, they became “BEST BUDDIESS”. The term “BUDDY” was brought up by Aashika, who said, that’s the best way to define their relationship. Raj shared all his past experiences and woes with Aashika, who showed real sympathy on him and assured him that she would help him find a really loving life partner. She started taking real interest in this and came up to him with a proposal. It was one of her college friend’s who was pursuing her higher studies and was really cute. Raj liked the proposal and gave her a thumbs up to proceed with that. However, there was no response from Aashika on this for days. Finally Raj asked her about the proceedings and she answered “It won’t work out”. Raj was again sad. However, the unexpected happened. Aashika, in a funny mode pinged Raj and said , “ Don’t worry, If no one is there I’ll be your girl for life.” Raj smiled and ignored it. But slowly, Aashika constantly started telling him that she liked him a lot and wanted to spend a lifetime with him. Raj was shocked. A girl, who was the talk of the town, any guy’s desire, the most beautiful girl in the office at that time, was saying she loved him. Raj told her about all the complexities involved, that she was a Muslim and he was a Hindu. It was never going to work out. However, he told her one thing . “If you support me throughout and promise to be with me till the end, I’ll make this work out” . Yes, Aashika agreed and this was the beginning of a really sweet relationship. Not a single soul in office was aware of the fact that Aashika and Raj were in love.
The love filled days
The relationship between Raj and Aashika was so pure and divine. Both of them had become each other’s life partners , mentally. They cared a lot about each other. There was not even a second that they didn’t think of each other. Love was all around the place. At times Aashika wanted to have Raj by her side, but was scared to go to his cubicle. Raj never wanted anyone commenting anything bad about Aashika, so he used to take the risk and go to her place and spend sometime with her. Just to make his love feel happy. Raj did all the smallest possible things to make Aashika happy and Aashika reciprocated back just like a true lover. They were sharing an excellent bond. Those early morning wake up calls, late night romantic calls, staring at each other without anybody’s notice in office, all these were the memorable moments of their lives. They were loving each other unconditionally. However, tragedy struck. Aashika was diagnosed wit chicken pox and she had to take a medical leave for at least two weeks. Raj was also shattered. As there were chances that he would be flying to US on an onsite assignment in those two weeks. Both were terribly sad. However, Aashika had to leave. Raj was so sad that Aashika was suffering, he wanted to accompany her to the station. But Aashika had her friend accompanying her and as such there was no chance of them meeting at the station. However Raj went, both Raj and Aashika stood in the opposite platforms of the railway station and Raj, filled with tears, just had a glimpse of his love and bid her a bye. He was very much in pain and was praying throughout for her quick recovery.
However, the love that Raj had for Aashika was so much, that he used to call her every time she needed him, and never made her feel isolated. Aashika was confined to a room of her own. Four walls around her. No one to talk to and was just served food outside her door. Chciken pox was a scary disease. However, she had Raj with her throughout and he showered all his love for her without any restrictions. Aashika used to say that she never ever felt that she was a patient. That was the power of Raj’s love towards Aashika. It was genuine and divine.
Raj leaves to US
The chcken pox trauma was not yet over, when Raj had received the notification to travel to US on a long term assignment . He was terribly shaken. He didn’t know how to convey the message to Aashika who was at home recovering from chicken pox. But he had to tell her. She was weeping like anything at the news and even Raj was filled with tears. However, he assured Aashika , that he would return in 6 months , just to marry her and that there won’t be a single day in these 6 months that there won’t be a communication between them. However, he just had one one wish. He wanted to meet Aashika once before leaving. Why? He wanted to spend some time with her, go for lunch, buy her some gifts and really bid her a good bye on a happy note. Aashika agreed . And they met on April 1st (Fool’s Day). Raj was to leave to US that night and he spent time till 3:30 P.M. with Aashika. He went and picked her up from the railway station in the morning . Aashika was so happy on seeing Raj, she commented “ My hubby is here to receive me”. Raj was thrilled to hear that. He placed his first kiss on Aashika’s cheeks. Both of them were so happy. Raj never even bothered that he had to travel to US, and that it was a risk to be with a chicken pox patient. For him, his love was his life. The two of them shopped, had lunch, talked a lot and spent a great day together. However, Raj was really scared to leave Aashika alone and go to US. Reason being, every guy wanted to hit on her and he had developed a deep possessiveness for her. He told her, “If anyone shows the same care, love and comfort that I have shown towards you, will you leave me??” . Aashika was moved and said no. They hugged each other tight and parted. That night Raj flied to the US, with lots of beautiful memories and with a mission to be back to marry his love. He talked to her till the flight started moving on the runway. RAJ LOVED AASHIKA A LOT. SHE WAS HIS LIFE NOW.
The Climax
Upon landing in US, Raj was hit with typhoid. He spent horrible days the US with no one around him. However, he ensured that he called his love at least three times a day and talked to her. Raj was so madly in love with Aashika that, there was not even a single moment in his life that he was not thinking of her. She reciprocated in the same manner. Enough of happiness and love... Let’s come straight to the harsh truth.
Reading all this till now, its obvious that Raj loved Aashika very much. Here goes the truth.
Aashika was playing with Raj’s feelings and emotions all throughout. All the while she was pretending that she loved Raj, there was another person in her life from the same office. He was also a Hindu guy. She was so convincingly fooling the both of them at the same time. She lied at all junctures of life. She insulted the divine feeling called LOVE. Raj was shattered upon knowing this. How he came to know about this. One fine day, Aashika just calls him up and says that she doesn’t want to see him anymore and that he has no more place in her life. Raj begged and pleaded to her asking for a reason. The reason she came up with was simple , “I’ve got my real love who is ready to convert into an Islam for me”. Raj couldn’t believe his ears. Aashika was his life.Raj even made his parents talk to Aashika. Again she lied, that she would talk to her parents and get back to them. She was brutally stabbing him all throughout. Not only was she cheating Raj, she made fun of his mother’s feelings also. Raj’s mother cried out to Aashika and said that she would accept her with open arms , without even looking at anything else. Playing with all his emotions. She was just making a mock out of him. She was a maniac. This was her hobby. This is the reason, she had multiple communicator windows on her screen. Aashika somehow needed a manly presence with her always.
Raj was left in a state of shock and deep trauma. His health started going down considerably. He lost interest in work. Now Raj is back to India. Hs just has several unanswered questions
Why did Aashika do this?
Should she be punished?
Should she be allowed to continue in the office?
Should he rip off her mask and expose her identity to the public?
Is God going to Punish her?
Should he punish her?
Raj is now concerned about all other victims in office. He doesn’t want to see his plight on somebody else. Aashika is still roaming around with her heads high as nobody knows anything about her. She is just luring guys with her looks. Should Raj chip in ? How can this beast be prevented from hunting down more guys? Are guys meant to be mere mock commodities.
