Just received answer on ground rod for above ground metal fame swimming pool. Thank you tkrussell. I understand bonding the metal parts. With the supplying branch circuit being 20 amps, a #12 conductor will run back to panel. I thought a ground rod was needed for lightning protection. Can you give me a NEC section on this. I dodn't have a code book anymore.

I cannot provide a section of Code, since it does not exist and is not required, and should not be installed.

Why would one have a 20 amp circuit running to an above ground pool???

I am tired of pedaling a bicycle powered generator to run the pump motor.

Why would one not have a 20A circuit running to an above ground pool pump? What else would you suggest?
