I'm looking for the name of an 80s made for TV movie about a kid who killed his parents. I know the kid went to boarding school and he was talking about the killings with a classmate one night. The song "Dust in the Wind" by Kansas was playing during the scene. I think they were playing chess possibly.

Perhaps you're thinking about "Cruel Doubt," which was a made-for-TV movie based on Joe McGinnis's book of the same name. The movie starred Blythe Danner, and is about a college kid (not prep school) whose step-father and mother are stabbed while in bed. It turns out it was the kid and his friends from college who did it. They are all devotees of "Dungeons and Dragons."
