My boyfriend stepped into the picture about 8 months ago. Things moved pretty fast and we are now living together. I have 2 boys, 10 and 3 and their father isn't in the picture. My boyfriend has taken care of them and does a lot for all of us.

My question is, should I give him something for Father's Day? If I do, I know he'll be super excited to get something and it would show him how much I appreciate him and the role he now serves in our family. But, I don't want to go over-board since I don't want to freak him out. My boys don't refer to him as "dad" or anything, but he has served as a father figure...

HELP!

Discuss this with your sons and be sure to include them in the making of whatever this will be. I personally would either bake something special (caramel brownies? A specially decorated cake?) or cook a simple meal. You can oversee the boys making cards using crayons or paints or cutouts from magazines. Your imaginations can go wild!

Go for the Caramel Brownies! They're good!

No but seriously though, invite the kids in on it. It would be even better for him to know that your kids appreciate him as well.
