Saw this on TV between 2000 and 2005. As far as I can remember its about a group of 4 or 5 teens in a city in the us, told from the perspective of a girl.
As far as I can remember one of the characters dies of a drug overdose possibly heroin.
There is a scene in which there is a party going on and a couple of guys show up and either severely beat one of the main characters or shoot him over missing/stolen drugs.
Another scene earlier in the movie has the female character and one of the mail characters(possibly the one who overdoses) sitting on a bench/hood of a car with him convincing her to drink form a bottle of alcohol.
