Had security go to my room with him to receive the check. I told him that next morning the check was no good and we were both drunk. He has sent me a certified letter to collect the funds! Can I be prosecuted in SC ? He lives in Tennesssee and check was written at Cherokee Casino and also can I press charges for extorsion for them taking me to my room?

Did this happen on sovereign land?

Why did you give him a check for the money? You borrowed from him, something else?

How did security get involved in a loan between him and you?

Sovereign land is owned by American Indians, Indian casinos. The rules are different.

It would appear that security heard two different stories and believed his - have you contacted the Police and asked them? With what you've posted something here doesn't seem right.

In my area you'd BOTH be thrown out and security would escort you to make good only if you grabbed a chip or money, not if you borrowed it.
