So now the car makes a click when I try to crank it but will not try too turn over I was told too tap the starter with a hammer then it attempted too crank but nithing major. Im a college kid who is trying too learn a,little about cars I think it is the starter because before it has taken 2 or 3 times or crankin for the engine too start please give a guy sum suggestion I greatly will appreciate any help oh yea it's a 3800 motor

A college kid and that's the best you can do for spelling?

So you ran the battery down... what did you do next? These things don't recharge themselves sitting there.

How old is the battery? If its more than 4 years old or you don't know. Take it out and take it to an auto parts store and have it load tested. Everything else is moot until you know the battery is good.

. Remove and fully charge, or replace, the battery. Most auto parts stores will do this for free.

. Disconnect the negative battery cable and clean both ends of the alternator cable going to the battery.

. Test the alternator. It may be too small for your audio system.

Let us know what a load test determines on the battery...
