Hello. I really need some answers. I dance on a regular basis and about a year ago I began to feel stiffness and soreness in the back if my thigh when I stretched. Over time it became worse. I saw a doctor and he didn't touch me at all, he just said that I strained my hamstring. I got ultrasound physical therapy for five Weeks and still nothing. I have been inactive for about 5 months which I figure is enough time. I put heat on my thigh, then stretch, then ice it. I still have no good results. What should I do. I still feel the stiffness and soreness and even after a good stretch, the next day it's just as stiff and sore as before. I'm scared because it really affects my dancing which is what I love :( I'm beginning to think I won't be ale to dance anymore. Please give me advice on what I should do, or what you're if stretching regiment I should do to get rid if this pain and stiffness.

Have you gone to a good sports doctor for advice on treatment?

I went to a doctor who didn't even touch me. I told him what I felt and he said o you just strained your muscle and sent me to a physical therapy doctor. The only gave me ultrasound treatment for five Weeks and I was done... New what do I do even though I still have this pain?

A sports medicine doctor will do more than that. Are you in the US?

Look at this. Maybe it's worth checking out and finding an osteopath who can do this kind of deep tissue work and talk with him about your situation. It sounds a bit like shiatsu. I don't know the cost.
