View Full Version : I Nicked The Copper Piping!

I nicked the copper piping and ended up with a scratch. I was using a sawzall to cut the galvanized drain in the middle and hit the copper pipe at the end of the cut. I do not see any leaks and I do not think it is deep enough for it to cause a concern, but it is a noticeable scratch and I am worried. Will this scratch will hunt me someday and ruin the integrity of the copper pipe in the long run and causes it to crack and leak? I am a little worried with this scratch. Any advise or assurance will help me get some sleep tonight.

Hi Pogiboy
No issue here. Always good to check, of course, but in this case you have just a scratch so no worries now or in the future, OK?
Good luck and if you think you need any help later on in the project don't hesitate to pop back in.

Thank you Mark! I will be sleeping tonight like a baby after pounding the bathroom tile flooring off and knowing that the copper pipe is still good.
This site is very helpful and I have asked questions already and Tom and puffmugs were very helpful. So I will definitely pop back in once I run into a stop.
Thanks again.
