My dog had UTIs, had cancer of the spleen(removed and now doing good), blood work shows no diabetes, and now he drinks lots of water and pees all the time. The time he pees is from 10 pm to 3 am. He is 10 years old and the docs tell me has been tested for stone and he has not kidney infections. The only thing they tell me is that his ph level for urine is a bit acidic. What can I do they always tell me nothing is wrong? He had 4 bouts of medicine for the UTIs and now he is still urinating and drinking massive amounts of water.

There may not be anything wrong with him. Older dogs act strange. They will drink and drink and drink and drink and then have to go potty.

The food or treats you are giving may be high in sodium. High quanitities of salt will make anyone thirsty. And if you drink a lot, you got to pee a lot.

Its summer time now, and the weather is getting hotter. Older dogs have a harder time regulating their body temperature. So in order to cool down, they drink water.

Just continue to keep an eye on him. Take him in for his regular check ups and keep the doctor informed on his behavior and if anything changes.
