What is the maximum distance from the toilet to vent pipe on a new install?

This is how a typical installation should rough in.(see image) The group will be wet vented by the lavatory roof vent,
Depending on location and code.
4" drain= 10 to 12 feet.
3" dreain=6 to 10 feet Good luck, Tom
