My pomchi is about 4 weeks, and when could I start washing him?

Why do you need to wash him? Doesn't his mother take care of him?

Pups are supposed to stay with their moms until at least 8 weeks, so someone has been very mean to this pup by taking away from his mom. He isn't even weaned yet and probably doesn't know much about potty times.

There's no such breed as a "pomchi". Real breeders don't mix breeds, they don't make up fancy names, or designer names, for a mixed breed, and unless it's a registered breed, all you have is a heinz 57. Nothing wrong with that if it was an accidental litter, but the fact that this pup was sold at 4 weeks of age, there's tons wrong, and illegal, with that. I bet you paid a lot for this pup. That says a lot about the "breeder" and I use that term very loosely. This person is a criminal.

At 4 weeks of age he would still be nursing, and his mother would be keeping him clean. He's way too young to be away from his mother, and way too young to be bathed by a human.

If he lives, and that's a big if, he should not be bathed until he's at least 8 weeks old. When you do bathe him, it should be a lukewarm bath, with either a mild dish detergent, or puppy shampoo. Until then, you'll have to live with the smell, since you chose to pay for him to be ripped away from his mother, who would be the one cleaning this poor little pup until he was old enough to leave her.

If you have any decency, report the person that sold this puppy at 4 weeks. They're the worst of the worst, not a breeder, and are breaking the law! Most states have laws that puppies cannot be sold until 8 weeks of age. The person you bought this pup from is either a puppymill or a horrible backyard breeder. Your pup has a tough road ahead of him. I hope you're up for the challenge, because that's what it will be.

Is the odor the only reason for asking about a bath or are there other problems like fleas?
I wouldn't suggest bating a 4 week old pup simply for the reason of odor control.
If he were with his mom she would be keeping him clean, since she is not around you will have to do it. I would use a warm damp cloth and clean only the messy areas, mainly his privates.
Have a heating pad ready with a towel on top of it for warmth after you clean him up, make sure you towel dry him well and place him an the pad.
He can't clean himself and has no way of knowing he needs to stay out of his pee and poop.
What are you feeding him? He should still be drinking mothers milk, again no mom, you will have to feed him a puppy milk replacer.

Unless the mother was not caring for or killing the pups I see no reason for this.

You're a lot kinder than I am. I read this post, and the only thing I could feel was anger. Anger that people are still so ignorant that they don't know that a 4 week old puppy should not be removed form its mom. Angry that there are people out there, only looking to make some money, selling puppies at 4 weeks of age. Angry that there is always someone out there willing to buy that puppy, not knowing, or caring, about the consequences for the puppy.

Giving this puppy a bath is the least of the OP's concerns. This pup is in for a very tough road. It will likely have health issues, behavior issues, and more. That's if it even survives. :(

The worst, in my opinion, is the fact that the person that sold this puppy is likely to breed again. The poor female, used only as a money making machine, is still in the care of this monster, and more dogs will die and suffer because of it. That's the big picture. This one puppy is just a small cog in the huge machine that is killing millions of dogs a year.

Therein lies my anger. I can't answer this question with kindness, even if the OP didn't know better. Because there's no excuse not to know better! None at all! :(

I'm with you, that anger is justified. I read the question and left for a while to gather my thoughts, then came back to it.
It angers me that people would sell a mixed breed pup moreover sell it at 4 weeks. My hope is that by posting here and getting information people will educate themselves about what is acceptable, dangerous or illegal and what is not.
Hopefully they tell someone, who tells someone and so on and so on.
Granted OP for what ever reason bought a 4 week old puppy, And now knows that in itself that is not acceptable, she'll know better next time and will hopefully dissuade people in her circle of friends and family from doing the same.
It's the pup that will suffer any long term effects.
I hope she will raise awareness about this person with the authorities.
Believe me I got you, It's wrong and needs to be reported and this person stopped.
Will this happen? I certainly hope so.

And the pup's mother is probably already pregnant again.
