If you are so concerned then why don't you pay her more if she's working for you.
Its likely she isn't even entitled to handouts...

Your reply is useless, and not helpful at all...
As a mother and housekeeper she is earning a good salary,
My question was for assistance to her from the Government!
She is now a widow with three children to support and can no longer depend on an income from her husband,
IS THERE NO GOVERNMENT DEPARTMENT THAT CAN BE OF ASSISTANCE TO WIDOWS AND THEIR FAMILIES?
Helpful and positive responses only please

As taxpayers, don't you think Government has an obligation to assist the public, this has nothing to do with 'handouts' why should the private sector be the only ones battling to assist the poverty stricken women and their children?

Well your post is both ignorant and rude... and NO... nobody here is going to help her. Exactly who do you think you are talking to anyway. We are not the government... and if she qwas entitled to help she would know it.
If she's not retirement age.. then she needs to get a second job.

NO... we are NOT obligated to help people that are too lazy to help themselves.
If she needs money... she needs to find a better paying job.. or get a second job... or cut her living expenses. Or maybe people like you should be paying her a living wage instead of expecting the taxpayers to support them.

Assuming you are in the US, she can contact Social Services in her town. There's food stamps and child health plans and possibly her husband's Social Security. She can quit her job and go on welfare (not easily).
I think the answers above are too tough. There's something about the word 'domestic' that rubs a lot of us the wrong way, so some of this might be aimed at you, and often there's an assumption that the person is not a citizen and won't be entitled to benefits. If she is, she should ask her town social worker where to start.

If she is paid well, I doubt there is very much in government assistance, since for food stamps and welfare and medicaid, a family have to be very low income But they can apply at the welfare office.
If her husband worked, there may be a few hundred dollars to help with a funeral. But the funeral home should have known about that. If her husband was already retired, she may be able to collect a partial of his retirement pay.
And no, the government is not a social service agency and it has no obligation at all to pay people who are capable of working. Assuming she is making 600 to 800 a week, this is often not enough to live the best life style, but also often too much to get government assistance.

Please don't type in caps - it's the same as screaming at "us." I don't see that it's necessary.
If she earns a good salary as a domestic (whatever that means in your area) she is not entitled to Government assistance. Government assistance is in place to help people who do NOT earn a "good salary."
Assuming you are in the US and assuming she and her husband are, in fact, "legal" (and I believe that "domestic" might imply that perhaps he/she are/were not - but I'm formerly with the US Government and that's a term I saw in connection with "illegals" all the time) she needs to apply to Social Security OR Welfare (whatever it's called in your State) or for heating assistance and any other benefits. Social Workers are available in every County in the US to walk people through the process. Again, a "good" salary may take her out of the "Government assistance" range.
This is an open forum. If you only want people who agree with you to answer talk only to your friends and family.
As far as "As taxpayers, don't you think Government has an obligation to assist the public, this has nothing to do with 'handouts' why should the private sector be the only ones battling to assist the poverty stricken women and their children?" Where are you reading that ONLY the private sector is "battling" to assist poverty-stricken women and children? I think that employers who can afford "domestics" should pay them a living wage so they don't need to go on public assistance. I'm in NY. My taxes are very high. I thought a large percentage of that money went to Medicaid, other public problems - rent assistance and the like, food stamps.
As a taxpayer this question offends me on some level, too. You apparently aren't knowledgeable enough to do your own research, want someone else to do it for you - and then shout at the very people trying to help you?
If the "Government assistance" works out, let me know. I'm a widow, too.
