Hey!

I have done some experiment: I had 3 test tubes, in each test tube I put an iron nail and then I filled the test tubes with the following substance: H2O(aq), CuSO4(aq) and H2SO4(aq).

What I need to know is how the they reacts with the nail. This far I came:

Fe(s) + H2O(aq) --> FeO(s) + H2(g) (but is hydrogen really formed? ) or is the reaction like this: Fe(s) + O2 + H2O(aq) --> FeO(s) + H2O(aq) (?)

Fe(s) + CuSO4(aq) --> ?

Fe(s) + H2SO4(aq) --> ?

Grateful for help!

Fe(s) + CuSO4(aq) -->FeSO4(aq) +Cu(s)

Fe(s) + H2SO4(aq) --> FeSO4(aq) + H2(g)

Fe(s) + H2O(aq) will not reaction, unless in a long time with O2

I obtain master degree in Chemistry
