I think there is a plastic lid stuck in my shower drain. I have tried using a plunger but it won't budge. It takes about 24 hours to drain the water after we take a shower. I can't get to the drain from the bottom. What else can I do? I can't afford to have my shower taken out. Does anyone have any other solutions?

If the lid's not down in the trap I'd remove the strainer, take a coat hanger, put a hook on it and go fishing, Is it close enough to reach it with a set of needle nose pliers? Good luck, Tom

Hi Onlylanie
Like Tom said, remove the strainer and go fishing... may knock the lid loose and be able to see it and then grab onto it.
Otherwise, the issue may not be the lid... could simply be a clogged drain line, right? Here, remove the strainer and then rent an electric snake (see image) from a tool rental store and then snake the drain (wear leather gloves and safety goggles). You will meet resistance at the PTRAP (see image)... just keep pushing and get the snake through the trap... the rest should go pretty easy. In most cases, you should NOT need to stick out more than 10-20 feet cable to clear the drain.
Good luck!
