I was caught with theft under $5000 at winners the other day, and I'm over 18. What happened was I exchanged and added items to what I was planning to purchase to save money. I was caught on the camera was called by the store's security to their office. They took my information and filed a report, and I was given a ticket banning from the entire mall for a year. The police came couple hours later and took my information. One of the security asked the officer if they'd charge me (and bring me to the station, take pictures and fingerprints) and he said no. I wanted to know if this would be in my record because when I asked both the store and the mall's security before the police came, they said yes. Oh! And I'm getting a trespass letter (that's what I remember) in the mail telling me that I'm ban in all branch of the store and their sister stores and how much fine I need to pay. I know what I did; it's really a stupid decision to save money (I was even willing to pay the real price of the item, $19, at one point); and I am willing to do everything to get a diversion.
