Dear Ask Me Help Desk,
Help me! I will be 13 next month and really like this boy. He is 1 year older than me and we have been friends for years. We playfully tease each other and joke a lot. His sisters tell me that he stares at me sometimes and smiles. One problem. He lives next door to my grandmother's, and this means that I only get to see him a couple of times a week. However, as I said earlier, I have known and been friends with him for years. How do I ask him out, get him to ask me out, or at least get him to kiss me? I don't mean to sound desperate, but I have been holding this in for months. Do you think he even likes me? Thank you for your time.

If you don't get to see each other a couple of times a week, what is the point in asking him out? What does "going out" mean to a 12 year old.
Why can you not just be friends with him and see him when you visit your grandmother?
You don't need to be kissing anybody at your age.

Well I just want to tell him that I like him , but I am afraid of ruining our friendship.

You can't ask him out, unless there is some event you would like to go to with him. And you don't have to tell someone you like them, if it works right, the relationship will just go in that direction over time.

I am 13 and really like this boy who is 1 year older than me. We are friends and always joke around. I think he might like me too but I'm not 100 percent sure. Really, I just want to tell him that I like him but am afraid of wrecking our friendship. Help! Thank you for your time.

There is no reason to tell him you like him. Just be friends and hang out with him.

You don't have to tell him you like him, just be friends with him. Let things progress from there as you get older

Try not to grow up too fast. You have plenty of time to date and have relations with boys. You NEED to ask your parents first before you start. You need their permission to date.
