I have a 1992 Honda Accord LX 2.2L it recently keeps. Dying on me while driving first when I got off the highway was letting off the gas and when I acclerated the rpm's would go down in stead of up and the car waould start to stall.. I pulled over put the car in park and reved the engine a few times till I was able to acclerate again.. put in D and took off... got a mile closer to work & it did the same this time it died as soon as I let off the gas.. I restarted the car after looking under the hood and messing with the car it would not turn over until like 5-10 minutes later I pumped the gas and it started I hauld across the street to work & parked it.. my mom drove it home really slow and it ran after that we replaced the fuel fillter a week ago ran the whole time was running great then on my way back it did it to me again this time on the highway.. luckly its towed back @ my house we were going to push it into the spot off the wwrecker. And my mom was able to start it and drive a few feet into the spot.. it must like her.. I keep on all fluids and the tank was full each time.. it seems to run hot but gages show normal and the fluids seem to not go down much.. the radiator had water.. the oil was black ii am prob due for a change but not milky (blown gaskets) the oil did seem to smell like gas.. and there is a strong smell of gas all together like it keeps getting flooded.. any suggestions please let me know

. Replace the Ignition Control Module (ICM) and coil. Be sure to apply silicone heat transfer compound to the back of the new ICM.

. Change the oil and filter with SAE 5W-30 full synthetic engine oil (e.g. Mobil 1).

. Determine if the engine is running hot. An aluminum head engine only needs to overheat once, to warp the head, damage the valves, and blow the head gasket.

They had recalls on Honda Ignition Switches around that time.
Had one with exact symptoms, Ignition Switch Fixed it.
If you have a test light, can tell you the colors for Ignition/Start, etc for testing.
